Vela's presence far outreaches her diminutive height, her bubbling laughter and soft voice heralding her long before she catches your eye in a crowd. Where she goes so too does a joyful exuberance, an aura of sincere mirth that she wears happily in the light laugh lines on her cheeks.Relaxed in her own skin and with those around her, the woman fits naturally and comfortably into any room, always eager to meet new people and make new friends.

A native of The Black Shroud, Vela still thinks fondly of Gridania as her home, even though it's not sheltered her for nearly a decade now.Raised within the city limits, a budding talent in her youth caught her the attention of the Conjurer's Guild, and though her status as a Miq'ote earned her the ire of some of her fellow students, she settled well into the role of a healer and caretaker. Diligent and eager to absorb everything put in front of her, Vela's studies were only halted by the Garlean occupation of Ala Mhigo. Caught aiding refugees at the border, it's only with the recent revolution that she returns from her captivity.Though only rarely present, her guild mates speak highly of her, if not of her skill stitching bones back together, then of her kindness and warmth, traits she values above even the most hard earned facets of her craft.
